AL: Woman claims self-defense in deadly shooting: "A woman who shot her husband at their home in Northport Sunday claimed that she was acting in self-defense, authorities said. No arrests have been made in the killing of Michael Odell Jones Jr., 28, who was shot at his home on Royal Oak Circle Sunday, said Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Loyd Baker. The wife told investigators that Jones had threatened her with the gun during an argument, Baker said. Jones put the gun down before he began to hit and kick her, she told investigators. She said Jones had threatened to kill her and himself, Baker said. The woman told investigators that she took the gun and fired several shots. Baker did not release the woman's name because she has not been charged with a crime."
