MULVANE, Kansas -- A 31-year-old burglary suspect is listed in serious but stable condition after he was shot in the chest by a homeowner in rural Mulvane.
It happened about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the homeowner found the man in his garage and held him at gunpoint while his wife called 911.
"The suspect threatened him, came at him," said Capt. Mike Yoder with the Sumner County Sheriff's Department. "He fired one round. It struck him in the upper chest."
