Police received a report of shots fired in the 11000 block of Dedham
Drive around 3 a.m. Detectives said two or three men were trying to
break into the home. The homeowner struggled with the men over a gun and
shot one of the suspects.
A woman and small child inside the home at the time were not hurt.
There are bullet holes in the home's front door and blood on the front porch and driveway.
