In: Man Arrested in Copper Thief Shooting

The accounts differ quite a bit.  The accused shooter also called the police.

A few minutes later, police dispatch received a second 911 call from a man in the 2700 block of Utah Street saying he'd been shot, police said. That caller, a 20-year-old Lake Station resident, reportedly admitted to police that he'd been stealing copper pipe out of an abandoned house in the 2800 block of Wyoming Street when a neighbor, later identified as Gibbons, approached him and shot him, the news release states. Officers observed a gunshot wound to the man's chest, police said.
