KY: Permit Holder who Shot Robber File Whistleblower suit against Univeristy

In the suit, filed last week in Jefferson Circuit Court, Tomes said UofL removed him from his training position at the dental school after he sent out an e-mail in September about campus safety issues.

Tomes alleges he was moved to patient services – where he was to work on collecting $3 million the university had failed to collect – because of the shootout and "in retaliation for whistle blowing on the lack of security" around the campus.

Tomes was isolated from other employees and the university failed to provide proper accommodations for his injured leg, where he was shot. The lawsuit claims U of L "merely provided him with a trash can to elevate his injured leg." The conditions nearly caused a deadly blood clot, according to the suit.
