Followup VA: Armed Woman found Not Guilty after 9 Months in Jail

The woman shot has a long history of convictions on assault charges.

MADISON — A Madison County jury found a Culpeper woman accused of shooting an unarmed Madison County woman last fall not guilty of two of her three charges.

The jury of five men and seven women acquitted Victoria Lynn Jenkins, 53, of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the Oct. 18, 2014 incident on Fishback Road. Jurors could not come to an agreement on Jenkins’ charge of discharging a firearm inside an occupied dwelling, forcing Circuit Judge Daniel R. Bouton to declare a mistrial on this particular count.
