OR: Armed Woman Shoots, Wounds, Dog Harassing Chickens



The woman did not want to go on camera, but she said this was not the first time dogs from the neighbor’s property had come onto her land, and she did not feel safe, so she shot at the dog to protect herself and her chickens.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says in this situation, that was her right. According to the county's general definitions, a dog can be considered dangerous if it is chasing, wounding, injuring, or killing livestock, or damaging or destroying property of persons other than that of the keeper.
