At one point, Lowe grabbed a potted plant and threw it through a window, Dupree said. He then used a pool stick to begin breaking the windows of a vehicle parked in the block, at which time the resident came out and confronted him, Dupree said.

Instead, Lowe turned and hit the resident with the pool stick, Dupree said. The resident went back into his own house, and Lowe followed him and attempted to hit him with the stick again, Dupree said, but the resident had armed himself with a gun and shot Lowe twice, once in the stomach and once in the chest.
