UT: Dog Shooting was in Self Defense

The man reportedly pulled out a handgun and fired several shots after the two dogs began fighting and biting his dog. He told officers that he fired the gun in the direction of the dogs but hadn’t intended to hit either of them.

One of the pit bulls was struck, the bullet entering its shoulder and out of its neck. The dog was taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment.
