NC: Home Invastion, Woman Assaulted, Intruder Shot, Wounded

Officers were told that a man had broken into the residence and assaulted a woman inside the house and that another occupant fired a shot at the intruder, the release said.

The woman who was assaulted had injuries that were not life-threatening.

The man was taken to an unidentified hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the release said.

The identities of the man and woman had not been released late Thursday.
