NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — The cab driver who shot and killed one of two customers accused of trying to rob him has been cleared of any wrongdoing, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.
Quinn's office said their investigation determined the driver acted in self-defense, and the shooting was justified.
The cab driver shot and killed Christopher Dunton, according to the DA, on August 10 after Dunton and another man, Kyle Dawson, allegedly tried to "violently rob the cab driver" at knifepoint.
