PA: Scranton, 170 lb Turkish Shepard shot by Owner of German Shepard

Turkish Shepards are bred to protect flocks from wolves. The large dog was in the other dogs yard, and had it pinned to the ground by its throat, from another source. The owner said it would not let go of his dog.

The owner of a German Shepard allegedly got nervous and shot the 170 lb Turkish Shepard - he says it was for protection reasons.

We're told the large dog looked to be harming the smaller dog, but neighbors say the Turkish Shepard was friendly and they could have been playing.
