He said Yolanda Gaines was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. He added Kimberly Williams was booked into WBRPDC on one count of obstruction of justice. A third unidentified suspect is wanted.
According to Hicks, the incident began as an argument in the grocery store between Gaines and two people. He reported the argument later continued in the parking lot. Another person showed up and joined the confrontation, according to Hicks.
Investigators said at some point, Gaines pulled out a gun but one of the other people involved in the argument also drew a weapon and fired in self-defense, injuring the two victims. They added no store employees were injured and the shooter has not been charged.
