Police and medics entered the home and found Broadnax with a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene at 2:57 a.m.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the shooting followed a physical argument between the victim and his girlfriend. The 24-year-old girlfriend called 911 after reportedly shooting him.
