JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A man is in the hospital and expected to face charges after shooting at two contractors working on behalf of JXN Water on Monday.
Crews were working at a home on Bellewood Drive when Jaylon Proctor allegedly drove up and opened fire, according to Jackson Police Deputy Chief Sequerna Banks.
The contractors fired back, hitting Proctor three times.
Proctor fled the scene and crashed into a truck at a home in the 1600 block of East Northside Drive.
The incident stemmed from a text message argument between the suspect and one of the workers.
He and one of the workers are said to be related.
