Adam McDaniels, who was visiting Central Florida, happened to be getting gas at the time. He saw what was happening and immediately approached the woman.
"I got out with my firearm," he said. "I ran over, pointed my firearm with a laser at her chest, and told her not to reach for any weapons."
McDaniels put the gun away when he realized Perry didn't have a weapon but stayed near.
"As soon as she saw my laser on her chest, she stopped, became stone cold, didn't move or speak. I tried to get her to get out of the car, but she didn't do anything until the cops got there," he said.
