Police say, there is an active order of protection in effect protecting Earl Chase from his son. Earl Chase reportedly armed himself with a shotgun while his son was attempting to make entry to the residence, ultimately discharging "a round containing bird shot at his son" inside the residence after his son "refused to leave and began approaching Earl Chase and his wife while making threats to kill them."
The round struck Ethan Chase in his left shoulder, according to police. He was arrested and was transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and treatment where he is currently in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing at this time, police say.
