Kriston Reardon with the Murray Police Department said two armed men in their twenties attempted to rob Sierra-West Custom Jewelers just after 11:30 a.m., but they fled the scene.
By 12:30 p.m., nobody was in police custody.
Sgt. Michael Olsen with the Sandy Police Department later said that one of the suspects was dropped off at a Sandy medical center and had been shot in the leg by an employee at the jewelry store. He was reportedly in stable condition.
