The incident occurred on Greentown Road in the McDonald Community around 1:20 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was airlifted to a regional trauma center for further treatment.
Another man at the scene, who deputies believe to be the shooter, has been detained for questioning. Deputies said that his statement appears to be consistent with self-defense, according to sheriff spokesperson Heather Pelham.
