The homeowner told police he heard a noise outside and went to check,
where he said he found a man trying to cut and steal the catalytic
converter from his vehicle, according to what detectives told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
During that encounter, the resident fired a single shot that hit the
man. Investigators said they have not ruled out the possibility that the
shooting was in self-defense.
