TX: Resident takes shot at suspected prowler: "Just after 6:30 a.m. Aug. 25, a homeowner on Terry Street noticed someone wearing a gray hoodie, which matches the prowler's description, in his backyard. The Colony Police Department spokesman Lt. Darren Brockway said the resident then woke up his wife and told her to call 9-1-1 while he grabbed his pistol. "The resident opened the door to the backyard and the subject was running towards the fence. The resident then fired one shot in the direction of the subject," Brockway said. The suspect jumped over the fence and fled on foot. Officers responded to the scene but could not locate the suspect. Brockway said the suspect never entered the home and there was no evidence that he had been hit with a bullet. No charges are being filed against the homeowner from the shooting incident"

: Feds raid gun store in border smuggling case: "Federal agents raided a southern New Mexico gun store Tuesday morning and arrested the owner, his wife and their two sons on a 30-count indictment accusing them of smuggling guns across the border with Mexico. The firearms sold by the defendants included 27 AK-47-type rifles, three AR-15 rifles, two .50 caliber rifles, and two 9 mm pistols -- weapons favored by Mexican Cartels, according to a federal indictment."
