TX: Homeowner Shoots Intruder after struggle



RHOME – A man who repeatedly rang a doorbell and knocked on a front door was fatally shot Friday morning by the homeowner after the two fought in a yard, authorities said Friday.

Before he was shot to death, Spencer Crandall, 31, repeatedly demanded to be let in the house in the 12000 block of Carpenter Lane, said Wise County Sheriff David Walker on Friday.

  1. I believe homeowner definitely has a right to defend his home but after reading the news article... Why would he leave the safety of his house to confront a man he believes to be dangerous? Call the police and stand your ground once the intruder comes in. Looks like the homeowner in this situation was a little to eager for a confrontation costing a man his life. If the "dangerous" man had shot him I would have said what a dumb person for coming out of his home. I am for gun ownership but the home owner was not a responsible person in this situation.
