Would-be robbers picked the wrong person in Redford Saturday Night.
Redford police say a 31-year-old Redford resident had just withdrawn money from an ATM at Community Choice Credit Union, 25447 Five Mile, when he was approached by two people who demanded he hand over his money. While the robbery suspects merely implied they had a weapon, the bank customer did in fact have one and used it — drawing his legal handgun and firing several shots at the suspects.
One suspect was injured by the gunshots, while the other got away.
The injured suspect was later found by police and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
