WI:Armed Citizen Stops Crime Spree

In an example of armed citizen stopping crime, a 30 year old West Allis man defended himself and others against an attempted armed robbery by a group of four.  He shot and killed one of the suspects, a known gang member with a long criminal history at the age of 15.

The police or prosecutor have not said that the armed citizen had a concealed carry permit.   It seems likely, as he was not charged or arrested, at least not yet.  Perhaps he was openly armed, which does not require a permit.

Police have arrested five more people that they believe were involved in the robbery and dozens of others over the past few days.   From fox6now.com:
Police say they have arrested five additional suspects believed to be part of a group responsible for “dozens” of Milwaukee-area robberies committed over a three-day period — including the 2nd and National attempted armed robbery that resulted in the fatal shooting.

The suspects arrested by police are: two 14-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old man.
Dozens of crimes committed in three days, until a fatal mistake was made in the victim selection process.   Only one of the criminals was an adult.  Perhaps it is time that we reviewed the "progressive" reforms that wiped out juvenile offenses when the "child" reached 18.   Maybe we should limit the number of times that they are given a "second chance".   The separate system for juveniles seems to have become an invitation to crime for gang members.
