VA:Chancellor asks Students to Carry for Defense; Students Cheer, Media Pounces

It is emblematic of the media cartel to take words out of context and twist them to change the meaning to something they can use for political attacks.  That is what happened to Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. when he called for students to be legally armed for self defense.

Here are the remarks as written about at talkingpointsmemo.com:
During the school's weekly convocation, Falwell dismissed calls for gun control in the wake of the deadly shooting in San Bernardino, California.

"It just blows my mind when I see the President of the United States say that the answer to circumstances like that is more gun control," Falwell said.

"If some of those people in that community center had had what I’ve got in my back pocket right now," he continued before he was cut off with cheers from the crowd. "I’ve always thought if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walk in and killed us."
The remarks were met with loud applause and cheering.  Reuters.com  reports the remarks this way:
"It just blows my mind when I see that the president of the United States [says] that the answer to circumstances like that is more gun control," Falwell said, according to the newspaper. "… I've always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in…"
Here is the report from Politico:
Jerry Falwell Jr., a leader in the evangelical community, told students during a Friday convocation he has “always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in ... Let’s teach them a lesson if they ever show up here."
Here is the csmonitor.com version:
"I've always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in," Falwell said.
Cbsnews.com says that the final words of the message were not clearly heard:
"I've always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in," Falwell said. The final words of his statement could not be clearly heard on a videotape of the remarks, which Falwell posted on Twitter.
Cbsnews writes that Falwall clarified what the last words were, but does not print them in its article.  If the words were difficult to decipher, it was because of the enthusiastic student response.

Falwell's remarks were first published by newsadvance.com.  The full sentence has been corrected, with the final words added.  The newsadvance correction reports that Falwell is not backing down from calling for students to be legally armed.  We seem to be entering a transition, where many people are willing to stand up to the media cartel's control of the narrative and agenda.
Reached by phone Friday evening, Falwell said he’s had a concealed carry permit for a while, but he’s now decided to carry a gun after recent mass attacks. “If anything we need more people with concealed carry permits,” he said.
Falwell said he was referencing Islamic militants committing terrorist attacks like the ones in California and France, not Muslims in general.
Liberty University offers a free concealed carry course for students, and has done so for years.  Students must be 21 years old to obtain the concealed carry permit in Virginia.

Chancellor Falwell has been widely defended for his remarks by the University Students on twitter and other social media.

The Senate doesn't want new gun laws. Here's how Ohio candidates would change that -- or not.

  3. If everyone carried a gun it might turn into the old west shoot out for a while, but it wont last long. The movie style shoot outs were very rare in the old west and usually happened by the same kind of people that are our current form of criminal, eventually they all met someone faster and more accurate. or Marshall Dillon hunted them down. true history says that Wyatt Earp used his buntline special with the 12 inch barrel to shoot many from ambush. If they were wanted dead or alive how they died did not seem to be important. there will always be innocent victims and that is a tragedy. but how many innocent victims are we seeing now? Printing wanted posters could become a business. I think I have at least 21 printers and maybe eight fast draw gun belts. Just call me Matt the Printer.

  4. It seems to me to be very clear that all of these gun laws accomplish nothing. it is not your hardworking responsible honest adult committing these crimes it is radicalized Islamist or crazies and known criminals. Islamist prefer a sword any way and the criminals will kill and steal if they need to, to get a gun, thus the honest people need guns to protect themselves from sword wielding Islamist and the armed criminals. a criminal only need a gun that fires one bullet to upgrade his weapons and a knife would work just as well. Kill an unsuspecting good guy, take his weapon kill a few more good guys and you don't even have to shop for ammo. then you have enough inventory to start a black market business. at least until you meet up with the wrong good guy and he blows you away ending your crime spree. lately the criminals have been being dropped like flies.
