The woman's window was in line with the shooter and the vehicle he was shooting at. The video shows where the shot was fired from, and where it went.
Video showing path of bullet
A shooter is responsible for every bullet that they fire. It is important to know your target, and what is behind your target. Some say that every bullet has an attorney attached to it. There is good reason for this. When you shoot, you are unleashing deadly force. It is a grave responsibility. You need to be sure of your backstop. Do not unleash it when it is not necessary in a highly populated area. From oregonlive.com:
BONNEY LAKE, Wash. — Authorities say a woman was killed after she was hit by a stray bullet fired into her bedroom by a man who was aiming at his car, which had just been stolen. The shooter is cooperating with police. We do not have the full story yet. There may be more to it than his mother knows. Neighbors say they heard as many as ten shots.
The News Tribune reports Pierce County Sheriff's deputies received multiple calls between 11:10 and 11:25 p.m. Thursday from people who said they heard at least 10 gunshots in Bonney Lake. Shortly afterward, a woman called 911 to report her son's Jeep was stolen. She said he fired shots from a handgun before chasing after the car.
We know that an innocent woman is dead, hit in the head with a bullet. The entrance hole in the window seems to be in line with the direction the shooter admits to shooting. It looks bad.
You do not want to be "that guy". You do not want to be that woman.

A bullet should hit what you are shooting at. if it passes through your target and hits something else that is an accident.
