Notice what is not in the report? No indication of a neck grab. No indication of punching.  It is not clear what Ben Jacob means by a "body slam" but it appears, from his later description, that it means he went from vertical to horizontal.

From myfox8.com:

Jacobs told ABC’s “Good Morning America”: “It was a little bit sudden, but I went from being vertical one moment to being horizontal the next.”
Compare this to Alicia Acuna's description, that went viral shortly after the event. From foxnews.com:
At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"
Notice the glaring inconsistencies between Acuna's version of events, and Jacobs' version of events. Alicia Acuna has already walked back the description of a "neck grab".  From lifezette.com:
"One of you guys said last night that he put his hands around his neck," Ingraham said. "Which, as somebody who's done a lot of taekwondo and self-defense, to me that seemed, that might not be exactly right."

"You know, and I'm the one who said that," Acuna replied. "I saw both his hands go up, not around his neck in a strangling type of way, but more just on each side of his neck, just grabbed him and I guess it could've been on his clothes, I don't know."
What exactly did happen? We do not know. It seems likely a minor incident was portrayed as something more serious in an attempt to influence the Montana election. That attempt failed.

Gianforte won with  with 51% of the vote. The Democrat candidate pulled in 44% of the vote, the Libertarian, 6%. Totals do not add up to 100% because of rounding.

  1. I'd say that all things considered,Jacobs got off light....maybe that will be a "teachable moment" for partisan media types

  2. It is about time someone took down one of these nosey pushy reporters that think they can get in any ones face and get away with getting in someone face and space and badger you as if they want something to happen and then when it does they get all defensive. You see it a lot with the Antifa trash, what the Antifa crowd do not understand is that many of their action are offensive to the point of requiring self defense counter moves. there is personal space you do not cross. Male or female a jabbing finger can be dangerous. the palm of the hand pushed in your face is a dangerous move. If it was me I would give them back their hand as soon as they were able to ask for it, Might need to put it in a plastic bag. You can kill someone with the palm of your hand. You can take an eye out with one finger. it is not just not touching you it is violating your personal space with what could be seen as dangerous or threatening moves. Antifa groups might just get a little smaller if a few of them start winding up in traction. the Geneva convention was designed on the concept that weapons of war should wound rather than kill, thus ball ammunition was approved rather than dumb dumbs or bullets that explode or disintegrate causing massive wounds and death. Martial arts can be used to disable wound or kill. Not my responsibility to know who is making moves to wound, disable or kill. My right is to respond defensively. if you get in my face close enough to knife me don't be surprised if you are the one that gets carried off.

  3. Great, Now if we can get the laws changed in New Mexico I can drive to Texas and exercise my constitutional rights that travel with me as long I do not drive into New Mexico. for about 30 miles I would be committing a crime. years ago the USSC ruled that as long as your weapons are in a vehicle licensed in the state you reside in and are in that vehicle, inside that vehicle is state territory of the state you reside in. Years ago I had to explain that to Texas rangers. New Mexico cops are too ignorant to understand the explanation. One actually told me it was illegal to bring ammunition into New Mexico.

  4. Frankly I have never found anyone in New Mexico capable of enforcing any law as written. a district court judge informed me " this is my court and I will do as I see fit, I don't care what the law says" the appeals court judges said we see no violation in what this judge did. I bought a transcript of the hearing, absolute proof that judge wilfully violated the written law in her own voice on a CD.
