After a week without access to the Internet, I am back in civilization in Dallas. Internet access was only a few miles away, in Northern Wisconsin, but close supervision of my grandson combined put a short moratorium on article production.

FYI: Recent mauling of sheep herder by a black bear occurred a few miles outside of Durango, Colorado. As reported by CowboyStateDaily[dot]com, a Wyoming media (referred to as "CSD" later), the event occurred last Tuesday, 11 Jul 2023. The sheep herder was not identified by CSD, but reported as having numerous severe injuries. CSD reported he fired an unknown number of shots during the event with a 30-30 rifle. The bear was reportedly attacking his flock. CSD reported he was awakened about 01:00 by the ruckus. Other media may have more information, as might Colorado F&G. CSD said that Colorado F&G killed a black bear afterwards, and is having the animal tested for rabies.
