On Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 9:47 PM, Moreno Valley Police Officers responded to a burglary in progress near the 26000 block of Biloxi Drive, Moreno Valley. The victim heard glass break in the kitchen area and feared someone had forced entry into the residence. The victim armed himself with a legally-owned and registered handgun after hearing the suspects force entry into the residence. The victim was confronted by two male suspects in the kitchen area of the residence. Fearing for his safety, the victim shot at the two suspects inside his residence. Both subjects fled the residence and the victim called 911.
A short time later, a 17-year-old male juvenile was found nearby suffering from a gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to a local area hospital and was treated for his injuries. The juvenile, a resident of Moreno Valley, will be charged with burglary.
A second 17-year-old male juvenile, suffering from a gunshot wound, was also located nearby shortly after the reported incident. This juvenile was transported to a local area hospital and was treated for his injuries. This juvenile, also a Moreno Valley resident, will be charged with burglary.
