LANSING — A would-be armed robber got more than he bargained for when he tried to hold a man up on Tuesday, according to police.

Officers arrived and found the victim, a 28-year-old man, had shot the suspect in the buttocks. Kraus said the victim had a valid concealed pistol license and therefore was carrying the firearm legally.
