The outrage about an American hunter, Melissa Bachman, who bragged on
Twitter about bagging a splendid male lion, was terrifying to watch.
Terrifying, but also deeply troubling on many levels. Emotive outrage
and smug judgmentalism are no substitute for rational thought and
pragmatic policy.
