TX: Domestic Defense Disarm: Both Shot, Both in Hospital

“The suspect was upset with the victim over a ladle that the victim had taken from his deceased grandfather’s house,” a statement from police Thursday reads. “The victim, David Castro — 32, gave the ladle to the suspect and the suspect began beating the victim with it.”

Castro pulled a handgun from his waistband and shot the suspect in his chest, and the suspect wrestled the gun away from Castro and shot Castro in the stomach, according to the statement.

The suspect, if he lives, is looking at a possible charge of aggravated assault, said Lt. Ray Mendoza.
