On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 1024 hours officers responded to a
burglary in progress of an occupied apartment at 420 Markham Mesa Place.
While officers were enroute to the call, off duty officer Brian
Osmundson advised over his police radio that a male was beating on the
door to his apartment and trying to gain entry. He then advised that the
suspect had broke out a window and was attempting to get inside the
apartment and shots had been fired.
When on duty officers arrived on the scene they located Officer
Osmundson rendering aid to a black male lying outside of the apartment.
The subject was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and kept
repeating to officers that his name was “God.”
