TX: Homeowner uses Rifle against Home Invaders, 1 Suspect Killed, 2 Fled



PORT ARTHUR — Port Arthur Police say the man shot and killed by a homeowner during what investigators call a home invasion/Aggravated Robbery is Terence Ellies, 27. Justice of the Peace Tom Gilliam III has ordered an autopsy.


Police say the owner of the home in the 2500 block of 18th Street shot and killed a home invasion robbery/Aggravated Robbery suspect who’d forced his way into the home with two other suspects. Police say the 29-year-old homeowner armed himself with a rifle and fired several shots at the 27-year-old suspect to protect his young children. The suspect died inside the home. The two other suspects left. No one else was injured. Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam III has ordered an autopsy. 6 Shooter L.D. Ray captured our video.

I just converted my bird gun to a street sweeper. Good pattern at 25 feet might get three at a time.

Look further - that same house was shot up in a drive-by later that night, and then mysteriously caught fire...
