The shooting happened after 10:30 PM in the 2400 block of Glass Street.
Police believe the case was a robbery attempt.
They say the shooter stayed on the scene and was the actual victim of the robbery attempt.
They say he shot 20 year old Derrick Ruffin in self defense.
