MONTICELLO, Iowa — A man accused of breaking into someone's Monticello home was shot and killed on Wednesday morning, according to Monticello Police Chief Britt Smith.
A press release says Pattrick O'Brine, 30, was shot and killed at a home on South Sycamore in Monticello.
Police say the resident called 911 to report a break-in. Before officers arrived, that person armed themselves and shot the intruder.
