According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner called 911 just before 4 a.m., claiming he shot the men after they broke into his home on N. Bulldog Drive in Madison.
Deputies arrived at the house minutes later and found two men dead. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified them as Dalton Keith Skirvin, 27, and Kaleb Adam Skirvin, 29, both from Madison.
Charles Pruitt lives across the street and said this was not the first time someone broke into his neighbor's property.
"[He] called me a couple nights ago and told me that somebody broke into his garage," Pruitt explained.
