CA: Armed Homeowner Shoots, Kills, 2 Home Invaders

Two men were shot dead after breaking into the home of a person one of them knew in Long Beach early Tuesday morning, police said.

A resident on the 1000 block of Almond Court, near 11th Street, reported around 12:10 a.m. that he’d opened fire on an intruder, Long Beach police said in a news release.

TX: Debt Collector Brings Knife to Gunfight, Homeowner Stabbed, Knifeman Shot

Police say that a man came to the home to collect a debt, then a fight broke out between the two people. The debt collector pulled out a knife and stabbed the homeowner, and then the homeowner pulled out a gun and shot the debt collector three times.

KY: Man who was Choking Woman, Shot in Leg

According to investigators on scene, the argument escalated and the man lunged at the woman. The woman reportedly hit the man in the head with an object, and he started choking her.

Deputies tell our crew at the scene the woman’s brother came outside and told the neighbor to get off of her. When he didn’t, the brother got a gun and shot the man in the leg.

Propaganda aimed at Self Defense in Albuquerque shooting

In New Mexico, on June 15, the police were pulled back, refusing to arrest people as they attempted to destroy public property. Leftist media called the situation a protest. It was a propaganda event meant to intimidate and demoralize.

Residents of the area, including local militia members, attempted to prevent the destruction of the statue.  Mindful of a hostile, leftist media, armed militia members were careful not to engage in violence, or to be baited by leftist agitators.

Steven Baca, a former political candidate, was videoed scuffling with leftists who were working to destroy the statue. He appears to have taken the bait of one or two leftist women, shoving them out of the way, or pulling/pushing one to the ground. The local militia have said Baca is not associated with them.

Baca decided to retreat from the event, perhaps after being threatened by masked leftists. He is struck with a green skateboard, wielded by a masked man in black clothes, but remains upright and continues to retreat. A group of leftists pursue him, strike him again, and knock him to the ground. As he is on the ground, being attacked, he fires a pistol four times, striking one of the attackers. One of his attackers has a skateboard. It may be the person who struck him earlier, but it is not clear.

A few seconds later a person is seen running from the area, holding a skateboard.

KRQE characterized the incident as militia members firing at protestors. From krqe.com:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department has identified the man arrested in connection to the shooting of a protester near Old Town on Monday, June 15. Video posted to Facebook shows protesters trying to tear down the statue of conquistador Juan de Oñate on the corner of Mountain and 19th Street.

Shortly after, APD says an armed militia calling themselves the New Mexico Civil Guards fired shots at protesters. One person was hit and is now fighting for their life in the hospital.

Once police arrived at the scene in armored vehicles, cell phone video sent in after the shooting shows members of the civil guard on the ground getting handcuffed. Witnesses at the scene tell KRQE News 13 dozens of individuals called APD for help before the shooting as tensions rose but police arrived after the protester was shot. Police say the individuals were taken into custody for questioning. Tear gas was thrown by authorities into the crowd to keep people away from the scene.

The organized militia had nothing to do with the shooting, which seems to be justified self-defense.

Under American law, you are not allowed to start an altercation, then escalate it, then used deadly force and be justified in doing so.

If you are involved in an altercation, then retreat, attempting to end the altercation, you regain your ability to use force, even deadly force, in self defense.  Clickondetroit.com gives a more complete picture of what happened.

Stephen Ray Baca, 31, was arrested and jailed on suspicion of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Baca was once a candidate for the Albuquerque City Council and is the son of a former Bernalillo County sheriff.

Baca had been among those trying to protect the statue when protesters “appeared to maliciously pursue him,” according to a criminal complaint. Video posted on social media showed protesters hitting Baca with a skateboard, punching him and chasing him before he opened fire.

Mayor Tim Keller said during a news conference that Baca appeared to be “agitating at the protest well before this shooting took place." The mayor pointed to a video that showed Baca throwing a woman to the ground and said investigators were still interviewing witnesses, reviewing video and working on a full account of what happened. It wasn't clear what precipitated the interaction with Baca and the woman.

Steven Baca (Steven is correct, Stephan is an error) was arrested and charged.  When the video showing the confrontation surfaced, the charges were, at least temporarily, dropped.  None of Baca's attackers have been arrested or charged.
Mayor Keller went further. He stated he wishes to amend the New Mexico Constitution to give cities the ability to decide who may be armed, and when they would be allowed to do so.  It seems Mayor Keller is allied with the group who attacked Baca. This is how political terror works. Remove legal protections from the population; use political power to immunize the unaccountable enforcers, often designated as "community" groups.

It is difficult to do this when the victims are legally armed.

Still, Keller said he was concerned about the group and used the incident to call on state lawmakers to consider gun control measures during their next session, specifically a possible amendment to the state Constitution that would give cities the power to regulate the right to bear arms.

At the same time, the political terrorists claim the victims are evil people who must be controlled or destroyed. The victims are the designated scapegoats, who are allowed to be attacked and victimized. The victims are anyone who speaks up against the terrorists world-view.

Why haven't any of the people who attacked Baca been arrested? Until they are, the working assumption is because they are political allies of Mayor Keller.

SC: Property Owner Fires Warning Shot to Stop Threat

A man allegedly threatened to kill the owner and his friend if they moved the stuff.

The man picked up a trash can and started walking aggressively toward the owner and the friend, the report said.

The owner fired his revolver in the air.

TN: Armed Victim Shoots Armed Robber at Opry Mills Parking Lot

The suspect approached the victim with a revolver and demanded his belongings, according to Metro police. The victim then reportedly pulled out a handgun in self-defense and shot the suspect in the knee.

Followup VA: Jared Scott Dockery killed after Breaking into Residence

NICKELSVILLE, Va. — A man who attempted to force his way into a Nickelsville home has died, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.


On Tuesday evening, the Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Twin Springs Road. The call was in reference to a man attempting to force his way into a home that was occupied by two women and two small children, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

UT: Armed Pharmacist Uses Gun to Drive off Burglars

“I was pointing this gun at this dude’s head, and I’m on this 911 call. I’m thinking, ‘How do you guys not see me? Every light in this place is on,'” Kirkland said.

The owner said he yelled loudly, scaring off the three men who drove away with a fourth male, the driver, without incident. Kirkland quickly provided dispatch with information that included the vehicle’s make and model.

St. George police officer Tiffany Atkin tells ABC4 News the police department collaborated with both Washington City police and Dixie State University police, who began stationing themselves at exits along I-15.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A man who was shot after allegedly assaulting his partner in front of a Lake Elsinore shop owner is now in jail awaiting a court appearance.

Vincent Benton, 31, of Lake Elsinore was booked on suspicion of second degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, battery, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/co-inhabitant, terrorists threats, receiving known stolen property, vandalism, and violating probation, among other charges, jail records show.

OK: Man Shoots two Aggressive Dogs on his Property

"Mr. Williams said he retrieved a shotgun from his safe, looked out the window and didn't see the dogs. Mr. Williams said he thought the dogs had left, so he went back outside," Felts said. "Mr. Williams told me the dogs came around the corner of his building, charging him."

Williams said he feared being attacked, so he shot the dogs. He said the first dog died immediately, but the second was still alive.

NM: Rioters Attempting to Tear Down Statue in NM Attack Armed Person, 1 Shot

Baca had been among those trying to protect the statue when protesters “appeared to maliciously pursue him,” according to a criminal complaint filed by police in connection with the charge lodged against Baca.

Video posted on social media showed protesters hitting Baca, a former Albuquerque City Council candidate, with what police described as a longboard skateboard and punching him. Then he opened fire with a handgun.

After the shooting, other armed people encircled Baca in an apparent attempt to protect him, the video showed.

MI: Woman Shoots Man attempting to Break into Home at 2:15 a.m..

DETROIT – A homeowner shot a 30-year-old man that was attempting to break into her home early Sunday morning.

Police say at around 2:15 a.m. the male suspect attempted to force his way into the woman’s home in the 9900 block of Ohio Street. The man broke her front living room window and the glass of her front door before the woman shot him.

MI: Armed Citizen Shoots Man who Threatened Motorists

On 6/15/2020 at about 8:25 a.m. Eaton County Central Dispatch received multiple reports from citizens stating there was a black male dressed in a black hoody and jeans with a weapon in the middle of the 6500 block of Saginaw Hwy firing off rounds in the air and also pointing the handgun at motorists. As Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputies were responding, dispatch advised that a man was down in the road and indications were that he had been shot. Upon arrival, Deputies found a male with apparent gunshot wounds whom EMS pronounced as deceased at the scene. A handgun was found next to his body.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 22-year-old resident of Delta Township who had been traveling east on Saginaw Hwy, stopped near Brookside Drive as he observed a black male in the middle of Saginaw Hwy who then stepped in front of his vehicle. This male then pointed a pistol at him and the citizen, who is a CPL holder, fired his pistol from his vehicle striking the male who went down in the roadway. The deceased male is a 26-year-old with a last known address in Walker, MI. Further information will be updated pending next of kin notification.

IL: Man Exercising Second Amendment Rights in Chicago, Shoots Attacker

About 5:30 p.m., a 40-year-old man was shopping in a store in the 13000 block of South Brainard Avenue when a man approached him from behind and struck him in the back with an unknown object, Chicago police said.

The 40-year-old pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the other man, 52, police said.

2020 Walmart pulls Guns, Ammo From Shelves: Excuse? Riots!

A stop at the local Walmart on 3 June, 2020, revealed an empty gun display. No guns were inside the locked display. There were no cartridges available, other than shotgun bird shot.

Walmart had been trending toward gradual elimination of guns from its inventory for years, ever since the death of the founder, Sam Walton, in 1992.

Sam discouraged merchandise which was not made in the USA. Sam insisted each store carry firearms, including handguns. When Sam was not there to enforce those policies, the leftists who took over the company used each new "crisis" to remove firearms and ammunition from the store.

In the 1990s, Walmart stopped selling handguns in all its stores, except in Alaska.

In 2015, Walmart ended sales of modern sporting rifles.

On September 3, 2019, Walmart announced it would no longer sell handguns in Alaska,  handgun ammunition in all stores, or the nebulously defined "assault weapons".

Two Walmart associates at the store said the firearms had been removed from the display because of national concerns over riots.

This policy was confirmed with articles in several outlets. From chainstoreage.com:

The retailer giant has removed firearms and ammunition from the sales floor of some stores as protests continue across the nation against the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Growing up in the 1950s and 1960s, every other shop in the tourist and dairy farm area where I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, carried guns and ammunition. Every bait shop, hardware store, most service stations, and many other shops carried guns. Guns were available through the mail, although handguns had to be delivered by private carrier instead of the post office.  As a teen, I had no difficulty purchasing ammunition at the local gas station.

The Gun Control Act of 1968 changed all that. Almost overnight, guns disappeared from most small outlets, because of the cost and record keeping requirements built into the 1968 law.


The crime rate soared. Homicides peaked in the 1980s and 1990s.  Murders of police officers while on duty, peaked in the 1970s. The average number of police murdered in the line of duty, from 1970 to 1980, was 112 officers per year.  That number had dropped below 50 a year, until President Obama and his support for racial organizations such as Black LIves Matter, ramped up hatred of the police.

The 1968 law was meant as a precursor to handgun registration. It failed. It did not reduce homicides or murders, even with guns. It should be repealed as an affront to the Second Amendment.

The unintended consequences were profound. An awakened membership changed out the old guard leadership of the NRA, in 1977.  The NRA moved its primary mission from training to preserving the right to keep and bear arms. Training doesn't do much good if you do not have guns to train with.

Concealed carry permit laws, both shall issue and Constitutional carry, proliferated as gun owners lobbied for restoration of their rights. The homicide rate dropped. People legally carrying guns were shown to be extremely law abiding. 

The lack of other shops carrying guns and ammunition created the proliferation of the independent, dedicated gun shop. The dedicated shops became nexus of information, voter registration, training and support for the Second Amendment.

Gun shows proliferated. At the shows, gun owners could meet, trade guns, ammunition, and information. They became another nexus of activism and resolve to restore a Second Amendment under near constant attack. Almost no criminals get guns from gun shows. Gun shows are under attack because they are a center of political activism. My good friend, Alan Korwin, built his business at gun shows selling his highly successful line of books on gun laws.

Walmart will likely stop selling nearly all guns and ammunition in the United States.  It will backfire on them.

Many dedicated gun shop owners have said they cannot compete with Walmart. Now they will not have to do so.

We now have more than 450 million guns and 100 million gun owners. In the first five months of 2020, we added eight million more guns, millions of new gun owners. 

Guns and the right to bear arms are extremely popular in the United States. With the lawless destruction of property and lives in many leftwing cities and states, they are both rapidly becoming more popular than ever.

TX: Gunfight, Son Wounded 1 of 3 Home Invaders Killed

A suspect in a west Houston burglary was shot and killed Sunday morning, and the man who shot him is recovering at a nearby hospital as Houston police look for two other burglars who tried to steal jewelry from an apartment.

An elderly woman living at The Crossing at Old Farm apartment complex at 2500 Old Farm Road woke up to her dogs barking around 5 a.m., and found a man standing next to her bed.

NY: Armed Neighbor with Shotgun Stops Violent Home Invasion

The Rome Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident Sunday where a male intruder broke into a home, assaulted an occupant and was ultimately chased away by a neighbor with a shotgun, police said in a statement.

Police responded to Croton Street on Sunday to reports of a shots fired, authorities said. During the investigation police learned that a black man, wearing a facial covering and carrying a handgun, entered an upstairs bedroom by removing an air conditioning unit, authorities said.

CO: Court Rules Common Basement part of Residence in Shooting of Donald Russel

A man who killed a homeless intruder in his apartment building is entitled to immunity under the law that allows for deadly force in the face of perceived threats, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday.

Colorado’s “make my day” statute permits the occupant of a dwelling to use deadly force against someone who unlawfully enters if they are committing — or intend to commit — a crime. The resident is immune from civil or criminal liability if he or she “reasonably believes that such other person might use any physical force, no matter how slight.”
