OK: Tulsa Woman Shoots Boyfriend, Claims Self-Defense: "A Tulsa woman claimed self-defense after shooting her boyfriend early Saturday, according to Tulsa Police. The shooting took place at about 4 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Garrison Court. The woman told police she was being choked by her boyfriend when she grabbed a gun and shot him in the torso, according to Sergeant Robert Rohloff of the Tulsa Police Department. Police have been dispatched to the same address in the past for reports of domestic disturbances. The boyfriend was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to recover. The girlfriend had not been arrested as of Saturday morning."
OH: Deer hunter kills black bear: "The Ohio Division of Wildlife’s law-enforcement division is investigating a series of events that led to a Massillon man shooting and killing a 225-pound black bear Monday evening in Harrison County. Bears are protected wildlife in Ohio. The man used a shotgun to kill the bear during the first day of Ohio’s deer gun hunting season. The man’s name has not been released. Turner would not confirm reports that the man claimed he acted in self-defense. He immediately notified the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department that he shot the bear."
