Talk. Talk. Talk. Gun banners talk while gun owners mobilize

For a guy whose administration was so eager to give guns to the criminal gangs of the Mexican drug cartels in his Fast and Furious scandal, Obama’s been pretty adamant about trying to disarm law-abiding Americans. He’s spent the day bloviating that he’s going to do this and he’s going to do that about gun control.

Of course, he follows his tried and true formula. He states his support for the conservative position and then says “but” which is followed by leftist drivel that would make Karl Marx proud as a peacock.

Today, Obama said, “The issue here is not whether or not we believe in the 2nd Amendment. The issue is whether there are sensible steps we can take so that the individual in Newtown can’t walk into a school and gun down a bunch of children in a shockingly rapid fashion. Certainly we can do something about that.”

There you go. A slight modification to the old Obama formula.

We differ from Barack Hussein in that we recognize this is an issue of whether we believe in the ideals espoused by our Founding Fathers as opposed to trying to recreate past tyrannies with “sensible” steps.

This is why gun owners nationwide are mobilizing for a fight to defend and protect their civil rights.

It happened in Illinois starting on New Year’s Day, as leftist Chicago Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly thought they could ride the wave of hysteria from the Newtown, CT massacre to pass a flat ban on modern firearms. All semi-autos would have been banned. All pump-action shotguns and rifles would have been banned.

Yes, they wanted to ban your Remington 870.

The wanted to drive public ranges out of existence with onerous rules and regulations, too.

Illinois gun owners mobilized more aggressively than I’ve seen in fifteen years of gun rights activism. Freedom-hating Chicago Democrats wanted to a ban on guns.

We gave them a humiliating defeat instead.

Now they are trying their hand in New York State.
