For about a decade my favorite novel was Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein.

Why?

In the narrative Heinlein laid out a system for assuring that the citizens, the political authority of the Terran Federation, actually knew what they were doing and the reason for the procedures followed. This was because authority in any field of human endeavor is founded on knowledge of that field. Thus political authority is founded on political knowledge.

In the image released by the hoplophobe group established by former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg they demonstrate their knowledge and thus authority to speak on the subject of firearms. Here they clearly demonstrate their lack of functional knowledge of firearms and thus their lack of authority to speak on the subject at all.
