TX: Permit Holder Stops Car Theif, Engages in Gunfight

The customer, who was carrying a concealed weapon, came outside and confrtonted the would-be robber.

The assailant tried to drive off, but hit a pole, the SUV owner chased him with his gun, the assailant also pulled out a gun, and that's when the shootout broke out.

"Both the suspect and the complainant were hit by gunfire they were transported to the hospital and both are expected to survive," Lt. Larry Crowson, HPD.

The SUV owner did have a concealed weapons permit.
