SC: Victim's Gun Jams, He Follows Suspect, is Shot at



An Anderson County deputy responded to the shooting and auto break-in.

According to an incident report, the unknown suspect got into a 2000s white Ford pickup with a North Carolina license plate tag and left.

Harkley told a deputy that he heard a pop that sounded like a small caliber handgun, according to the report.

Harkley followed the suspect up Old Dobbins Bridge Road to the Love's truck stop at the intersection of Interstate 85 where the suspect turned on to a side road, stopped, leaned out the window and fired one shot from a small caliber handgun in the direction of Harkley, and then continued northbound on Interstate 85, the report states.
