Followup TX: Off Duty Officer Shoot Carjack Suspect

Investigators said a man got out of the backseat and started running toward the officer with a gun.

“The sergeant identified himself as an officer, gave him verbal commands. The suspect continued to run directly running at him holding the pistol out stretched pointed directly at the sergeant,” he said.

They said the officer shot the man several times. It didn't stop him, though, and he jumped back in the car and the driver took off.
