Followup NY: No Charges for Good Samaritan who Shot Knifeman

An investigation found Pittman "went berserk" and attacked his three friends with a steak knife, police say. One of the friends had an infant.

According to the District Attorney's Office, while a man struggled with Pittman over the knife, a woman fled to a neighbor's apartment with the infant. Pittman tried to get into the neighbor's apartment and "was shot at close range with a legally possessed shotgun," the DA's office said.
