FL: Woman Stops Break-In with Shot to Leg of Intruder

ACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man who was shot in the leg Wednesday evening after kicking in the door of a Regency apartment has been arrested, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

A 19-year-old woman told police that she was alone in her apartment on Monument Road about 6 p.m. when her door was forced open. The woman grabbed her gun and fired at the intruder, hitting him once, investigators said.
