AZ: Domestic Defense? Man Shot in Confrontation with Ex's Boyfriend

A preliminary investigation showed Branch had been in an ongoing dispute with his ex-wife, Howard said. His ex-wife and a friend went to search for Branch to confront him. The ex-wife was talking with Branch when he produced a handgun and threatened to kill her, Howard said. The friend, who had remained in the car, responded by producing his own handgun.

The two men exchanged gunfire, with Branch the only man struck, Howard said.
