According to the residents, three unknown suspects forced their way
into the home and shot the victim. One of the residents shot back at the
suspects and the suspects fled the scene. Officers located 40-year-old
Ryan Allen of Goldsboro in a wooded area near the scene. Allen suffered a
gunshot wound to the pelvic area of his body. He was identified as a
suspect in the burglary and assault. Allen was transported to Vidant
Hospital in Greenville where he died during surgery.
