Basadar Lawya St. Phard, 27, was shot and transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police. He was later pronounced dead. The individual detained following the shooting was treated at the scene for minor injuries and was taken to the Detective Division for questioning. RPD also consulted the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, and the individual was released without charges.
