BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Birmingham police are investigating after a
homeowner shot at burglars this morning and possibly injured one.
The resident, Arthur Williams, said one of the two burglars ran
off clutching his chest after he fired at them with a .22 rifle. A
second burglar fled in a white SUV, Williams said. The incident happened
about 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of 61st Street South.
